Our recovery cuffs have an athlete-centric design to aid faster muscle recovery. It uniquely combines three therapies in one solution: ice, heat, and compression.
Freezes in 2 hours and stays frozen for up to 5 hours.
It helps with
Pain; swelling; muscle pain recovery after exercise; calf DOMs; muscle cell function; and lactic acid in muscles.
Warms up in 15 seconds and keeps the temperature for up to 3 hours.
It helps with
Preparation before the exercise; pain; muscle spasms; blood flow; and tissue healing.
Evenly distributes gradient compression.
It helps with
Muscle soreness; fluid return; lower lactic acid; swelling; and muscle support.
By combining compression, ice, and heat, our recovery calf cuff is suitable for each stage of the muscle recovery process. Here’s how you can use each therapy.
Phase 1: Inflammatory
Inflammation occurs when the body protects itself by flooding the injured area with fluid for 48 hours. This process is essential, but too much fluid is bad, as it stretches the soft tissue. This is why we apply compression and ice instead of heat. During this phase, heat increases the blood flow into the injured area and increases the amount of swelling.
Â
Phase 2: Proliferation
The body begins to repair, and new tissue and scar tissue are formed at the injury site. Heat can now be applied to it to accelerate the healing process.
Â
Phase 3: Remodelling
This is the process of returning to health: the restoration of structure and function of the injured tissue. The healing process includes blood clotting, tissue mending, scarring and bone healing. Heat therapy can also be used during this phase.
The data presented below illustrates how long the calf cuff will remain frozen once removed from the freezer. It also indicates how long the garment’s use can be extended when stored in our Thermacase.
Every measure was taken to keep the environment constant and limit the variables. Repeat tests will be carried out to ensure a more accurate and reliable data set.
Ambient room temperature
The data presented below illustrates how long the calf cuff will remain hot after being heated in the microwave. For this, three cuffs were heated at 15-second intervals and then stored in our Thermacase.

Ambient room temperature
Each cuff was heated in the microwave separately by placing them in microwave proof bowls. This prevented the cuffs from being wedged inside and ensured evenly distributed heating.
The digital timer was set to 15-minute intervals. Readings on both cuffs was taken from the marked spot and recorded on the graph.
15 seconds at 900W. 1 minute (4 x 15 second intervals) at 900W. 1 minute 30 seconds (6 x 15 second intervals) at 900W.
Storing our Recovery Calf Cuff in the Thermacase after taking it out of the freezer can extend its use by over 5 hours.
This allows you to take the cuff anywhere and use it to heal sore muscles, accelerate sports recovery, manage calf pain after running, aid torn muscle repair, or treat other calf injuries.
